5 Reasons To Keep An Eye On Your Golf Ball
5 Reasons To Keep An Eye On Your Golf Ball
You will have heard this phrase before many a time, always keep your eye on the
ball. When ever you take a golf shot make sure you keep looking at the ball
until you have hit it. Even though this is true it is still a big problem which
causes golfers to play a bad shot.
This article will give you some reasons why you should always keep focus on the
ball during your golf shots.
Reason 1:
Make sure your eyes on focused on the ball and let everything else around you
fade into the background, only start this after you have completed your golf
shot set-up, as you still need to know where you target and target-line is. Do
not focus on your club as you complete the swing, this could cause you to look
up mid swing.
When you complete your golf address always look down at the ball before you
bring your club into its starting position. This will ensure you are not
focusing on the golf club which can distract you. You could end up raising your
shoulders to take a look at the ball which is going to lose your balance and
mess-up your entire swing.
Reason 2:
Ignore the natural feeling which is to keep your eyes on the club when you’re
completing the back swing. You will really feel like watching the golf club to
make sure it’s on the correct line, this will endeavour to cause you to miss the
golf ball completely.
Reason 3:
If you look down at the ball during your shot you will find it a lot easier to
notice issues with your set-up, swing or grip. You can easily realise that to
make sure you are hitting the club head in the correct line is to make sure your
hands move parallel to the target line. So this will make sure you keep your
hands in line with the club head when hitting the ball. So not only is it going
to help you hit the ball, it will also allow you to solve certain issues with
your swing.
Reason 4:
Most times you practice golf at a driving range, so after practicing your tee
shot so much it becomes natural to keep your eyes on the ball. The problem comes
when you are out on the course on the fairway, rough or sand. All golfers seem
to forget what they have practiced on the driving range and lift their head up,
so keep concentration on all your other shots and make sure you keep those eyes
on your ball. You will then mostly hit the ball solidly and successfully.
Reason 5:
Like most golfers I guess you tend to never stand still or keep your attention
on the ball when making your shots. As there are so many things to think about
you tend to lose concentration and look up or look at where you want to hit the
ball. This will always end up with you getting into trouble which will send the
ball in any direction.
To really help your game always remind yourself to keep your eye on the ball
this should be when addressing the ball and for your entire swing. You will be
shocked how much your game improves if your follow this ritual.
If you will look down on the ball, you will get results that are more successful
and you will not have a tendency to look up before the end of your swing.
The perfect golf shot is within your sights providing your follow proven
principles in this article. Hitting the perfect shot is not a pipe dream or only
for those pro golfers. Use these principles and very soon you could be hitting
your shots like a pro.
